Washington Fine Properties Announces Landmark Sale in Loudoun County: A New Era for Local Wineries

Washington Fine Properties is thrilled to announce one of the largest real estate transactions in Loudoun County this year, with the successful closing of 43277 Spinks Ferry Road in Leesburg, Virginia for an impressive sale price of $3,600,000. This notable sale stands as the most significant farm/vineyard sale and the 4th largest residential transaction in Loudoun County in 2024 year to date.

Daryl Judy and Debbie Meighan of Washington Fine Properties represented the sellers in this landmark deal, while Sharon Brown of Washington Fine Properties guided the buyers through the transaction. The property, famously known as The Vineyards & Winery at Lost Creek, has been a beloved staple in the local wine community under the ownership of Todd and Aimee Henkle.

The new owners, Ashley and Mark Witt, will be launching their own winery, Not Just N.E. Farm Vineyard, at this exceptional 50.52-acre estate. This remarkable venue features vineyards, a tasting and production facility along with a residence. The Witts will continue to host events in the property’s versatile event space. The Witts are poised to build on the legacy of the property, bringing their unique vision to the local wine industry.

Todd and Aimee Henkle, who established The Vineyards & Winery at Lost Creek in 2012, have made significant strides in the wine industry, including the acquisition of a 25-acre vineyard in Bluemont known as Meridian Ridge. This vineyard has been instrumental in cultivating their premier red grapes for the past seven years. The Henkles, in collaboration with Walsh Family, O1V, and Bluemont Winery, are actively working to secure official American Viticulture Area (AVA) status for the Bluemont region, underscoring its potential for producing exceptional wines.
As part of their strategic transition, Todd and Aimee will be relocating their production operations to Meridian Ridge and their tasting room to Echelon Wine Bar in historic downtown Leesburg, located at 32 South King Street. This move will allow them to continue offering tastings and meals, ship to their Lost Creek Wine Club, and host wine dinners and events at Echelon.

“We are incredibly proud to facilitate this major transaction, which not only highlights the thriving real estate market in Loudoun County but also signals a vibrant new chapter for local wineries,” said Daryl Judy of Washington Fine Properties. “Both The Vineyards & Winery at Lost Creek and Not Just N.E. Farm Vineyard are set to thrive in their respective arenas, contributing to the rich tapestry of our region’s wine industry.”
